URMA brings capture, encryption, independent publication and recovery into one system for journalism. The goal is simple: get selected material beyond the reach of a single confiscation, a single server shutdown, or a single company’s decision.
It starts with the person in the field. It continues with the editor who needs the files. And it must still work when the people who built the product are no longer around.

We do not need to claim that nobody has preserved evidence before. We need to make preservation work for the people who need it, under conditions that matter.

A dedicated camera is part of the product vision. The protocol is the foundation for multiple products and destinations. Litecoin is the default direction; Bitcoin adds a higher-cost layer of redundancy.
